Comedians Tim & Eric (Tom Goes To The Mayor, Tim & Eric Awesome Show Great Job, Lets Go To Prison) are going back on the road in 2009 in support of the fourth season of their show Tim & Eric Awesome Show Great Job which premieres on [Adult Swim] February 8th 2009 and the release of season 2 on DVD February 10th. The live show is pretty much there television show on stage including several people from the show including David Leibe Hart, and James Quall so expect plenty of pumpers, puppets , sports, Cinco , shrimp, white wine and maybe some tips for your health.

Chris Weitz Hired For New Moon But Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black) Fired?

As rumors indicated, Summit has officially named Chris Weitz (The Golden Compass, About a Boy, American Pie) the director of the sequel to the box-office hit Twilight, New Moon. Summit issued a press release today via Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production saying, “We love Stephenie Meyer’s fantastic Twilight series. Thinking long and hard about how to turn New Moon into the amazing movie we know it will be, and working with Stephenie Meyer to find the right candidate, we are thrilled to announce Chris Weitz as director of the film. Chris very much understands the world of New Moon and has the skill set required to bring the book to glorious life as a movie. We think he will be an excellent steward of Stephenie Meyer’s vision.”

“I am honored to have been entrusted with shepherding New Moon from the page to the screen,” said Weitz. “The extraordinary world that Stephenie has created has millions of fans, and it will be my duty to protect on their behalf the characters, themes and story they love. This is not a task to be taken lightly, and I will put every effort into realizing a beautiful film to stand alongside a beautiful book.”

In New Moon, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is devastated by the abrupt departure of her vampire love, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) but her spirit is rekindled by her growing friendship with the irresistible Jacob Black. Suddenly she finds herself drawn into the world of the werewolves, ancestral enemies of the vampires, and finds her loyalties tested. Production on New Moon is scheduled to begin in the coming months and the studio is planning to release the film towards the end of 2009 or early 2010 with rumors pointing to a November 20, 2009 release.

Of course the one thing Twilight fans are sure to notice is the absence of Taylor Lautner’s name from the above synopsis. Lautner played Jacob Black in the first film and it appears rumors are true and he will not be reprising the role in New Moon. Stay tuned as production is rumored to be getting underway on Monday and I am sure the casting process will be fast and furious.

IS SUMMIT ON THERE WAY TO TOTALLY SCREWING UP THE TWILIGHT FRANCHISE

first u don't resign the director of your first movie. then rumors swirl that your about to hire a guy who's last literary adaptation crashed and burned at the box office and was critically panned and now your trying to make a sequel in less then a year? if that wasn't bad enough here is more to put you more into doubt of summits thinking.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the fledgling Summit studio does not want to re-hire "baby-faced" Taylor Lautner as Jacob. They don't think he has what it takes to play the werewolf love interest/lead in New Moon.

And, in a desperate attempt to keep the role, Lautner's agent has reached out to the special effects people who did Brad Pitt's new Benjamin Button film to see what wizardry they could do to bulk up Taylor.

Another obstacle is finding Native American actors to portray Jacob's werewolf clan, which was difficult in the first film. Lautner himself is not completely Native American.

With only a slightly increased budget of $50 million and breakout lead actors to pay more, shoots in Italy, and shiny new special effects, Summit is going to have to cut corners somewhere.

Rumor has it that Summit has approached Golden Compass' Chris Weitz to direct.

Inside sources say that Hardwicke would have loved to direct the Twilight sequel, if given the license to take her time to make it better than the first, but "it ­became clear that Summit didn’t have those same priorities."

It all sounds like Summit is setting up its Twilight franchise for a sloppy sequel in order to cash in as quickly as possible on its box-office-busting success.

Despite all the drama, brutal production timeline, and potential for total crap film making, Summit shouldn't have a problem nailing a director soon because, as an insider put it, "We are in a recession. It’s a hit franchise. Whoever steps into it is guaranteed a $100 million gross. Everyone wants this movie."

An executive at another studio added, "You’d have to have a very high standard for art, hate the movie business, and hate ­money to walk off this sequel."

So is Hardwicke an idiot or just trying to avoid an embarrassing cinematic failure?

Although im not a huge fan of this franchise i have to say im disapointed that your taking a franchise and pretty much making a fast buck type of sequel.

Is There More To The Whopper Virgins Campaign Then A Cheap Commercial?

Today Burger King released there new campaign called Whopper Virgins online. This campaign is being called the purest taste test in all of history as they have people who don't even have a word for burger nor have they ever heard the words mcdonalds or burger king taste test a big mac and a whopper. Now this is definitely more then an 8 minute ad for the company this is a cultural experiment that really makes you think. There is no editing to make it seem like they all liked the whopper in fact half the participants either liked the big mac or had no preference. But what is really interesting is the second half of the short film directed by former skateboarder Stacy Peralta when the crew brings burgers to the villages of those who were in the taste test and to watch as these people who have never seen a burger attempt to eat something so foreign and something we perceive as so normal to us. I highly recommend taking 8 minutes out of your day to watch this.

Well This Might Be An Awkward New Years Eve For Taylor And Joe

When 2008 calls it quits, Joe Jonas and Taylor Swift, who themselves famously called it quits in 2008, will be on hand to ring in 2009 together. ABC announced Monday the two former lovebirds are set to perform on ABC's "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" on December 31.

The Jonas Brothers and Swift will perform live in Times Square for the show, hosted by Ryan Seacrest. "American Idol" alum Kellie Pickler will act as co-host and correspondent in New York, while in Hollywood, Fergie will host performances by Natasha Bedingfield, Fall Out Boy, Jesse McCartney, Ne-Yo, the Pussycat Dolls, Solange Knowles and Robin Thicke.

No doubt Seacrest is hoping that Swift will have gotten everything off her chest about allegedly being dumped over the phone by the end of the year. And while Joe Jonas has been relatively mum about his ex's many media appearances denouncing alleged treatment of her — not to mention how much time his reported new girlfriend, Camilla Belle, has apparently been spending with "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson — the group has publicly responded to a different rumor. Last week, the Jonas Brothers denied a report that eldest brother Kevin had plans to pursue a solo career of "mature music." In a MySpace post, the guys wrote, "There is a rumor that one of us is leaving [the] group. Not true. We love what we are doing and hope to do it together for a long time."

No New Moon For Catherine Hardwicke

It looks like “New Moon” will indeed live up to its title, bringing in some fresh blood behind the camera. Nikki Finke over at Deadline Hollywood earlier today reported and all parties have now confirmed that Catherine Hardwicke will NOT be returning as the director of the next big screen installment in the “Twilight” saga.

“I am sorry that due to timing I will not have the opportunity to direct NEW MOON,” said Hardwicke. “Directing ‘Twilight’ has been one of the great experiences of my life, and I am grateful to the fans for their passionate support of the film. I wish everyone at Summit the best with the sequel– it is a great story.”

“Catherine did an incredible job in helping us to launch the “Twilight” franchise and we thank her for all of her efforts and we very much hope to work with her on future Summit projects,” said Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production. “We as a studio have a mandate to bring the next installment in the franchise to the big screen in a timely fashion so that fans can get more of Edward, Bella and all of the characters that Stephenie Meyer has created. We are able to pursue an aggressive time frame as we have the luxury of only adapting the novels into screenplays as opposed to having to create a storyline from scratch.”

So even as the cast and director continue their press rounds overseas the director and studio have elected to part ways for “New Moon.” Will this decision mean the supposed Spring shooting start for the sequel is now in jeopardy? Our guess is probably not as Summit no doubt already has a list of alternate filmmakers cooking. Many helmers are no doubt chomping at the bit for a chance at a sequel as anticipated as this one.

The question of whether Hardwicke would return as the helmer of the second part of the saga has been hanging since even before “Twilight” opened in theaters last month. The argument has only intensified with the opening of the film. On the one hand “Twilight” opened to staggering numbers, exceeding every industry observers expectations. Indeed Hardwicke now holds the honor of helming the biggest opening ever for a film from a female director. But then there were the negative reviews, both from the fans and the critics. Many in both circles have argued aggressively over the quality of the film.

Just last week, Hardwicke — still enjoying the phenomenal record-breaking opening of her film — enthusiastically described her plans to return for the sequel. The comprehensive interview with MTV included her thoughts on Taylor Lautner’s necessary transformation into a larger (metaphorically and literally) player and how she’s considering depicting the wolves in the next part of the story.

My Interview With Erica Morgan

This morning I had the chance to interview an amazing undiscovered singer. Her name is Erica Morgan and she is amazing.

Jeremy Wein: So Erica how would you describe your music to someone who's never heard you before?

Erica Morgan : "I would describe it as a crossover of country and pop. I write all my lyrics because I want the listeners to hear not just a story that someone else wrote, but a story about something that I've been through that I wrote myself. I want people to listen to my music and say, "hey, I've been through the same thing!".

Jeremy: "Do you draw heavily from personal experiences for most of your songs"?

Erica: "I draw entirely from personal experiences for my songs. I love to observe people and what they go through, as well. Some of my songs are about experiences that I wish could happen--- based off a dream I have. Some are even about something my best friends have gone through. It's therapy for me. I write songs about all my heartbreaks and relationships because it helps me get over it all. If I wasted my time on a guy then at least I make it productive by getting a good song out of it".

Jeremy: "What first got you interested in music"?

Erica: "I have always loved to sing. When I was 5, I would listen to country music on the radio and make up my own words and melodies during the instrumental parts. My dad and Taylor Swift have to be my biggest influences. My dad has been playing guitar for 45 years and I remember when he came home when I was 9 with a little guitar. I never took it seriously but I would always listen to my dad play with complete fascination When I was in tenth grade, I went through a lot with my friends and really didn't have any friends. I then started watching Taylor Swift on TV and taught myself how to play the guitar and write music. It became my best friend and I've been playing ever since".

Jeremy: "What artist do you feel have influenced your sound"?

Erica: "Definitely Taylor Swift & Carrie Underwood. Taylor's voice is very different. Some of her songs sound so pure and the others have a rock edge to them. Carrie Underwood has to have the most beautiful voice I've ever heard. She's definitely a major influence on my voice".

Jeremy: "Do you have any celebrity crushes".

Erica: "omigosh, yes! I have a huge crush on Shia LaBeouf. I love his eyes and his hair and his talent and just everything about hi".

Jeremy: "if you can say one thing to your fans right now what would it be"?

Erica: " If you have a dream, never be afraid to go for it because it just might happen. I love people who love my music and would love to thank every fan on my music myspace for supporting me. Add my music myspace and spread it around. Loveee you all"!

Japan Gets Dragonball Trailer on December 18th?

It looks like our buddies in Japan won’t have to wait much longer for the trailer. Cinematoday is reporting that Dragonball's trailer will premiere at the midnight showing of The Day The Earth Stood Still on December 18th. No word on if it’ll be released online. Original Reports suggested that the US would see the trailer attached to The Day The Earth Stood Still but this week fox announced the trailer would not even be released this year but are aiming for a January 2009 release. This would mean more then likely a trailer may be attached to Bride Wars as it is the only film being released by FOX in January 2009.

Slumdog Millionaire.
In Theaters December 12, 2008
Based on the book Q and A by Vikas Swarup the film, shot and set in India, follows a young street beggar who appears on a game show and exceeds people's expectations, raising suspicions from the game show host and law enforcement. Directed by Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, Sunshine). This film is creating huge Oscar buzz after winning the Peoples Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Indie Song:

What I'm Watching:
Entourage - This Highly addicting show follows Vincent Chase and his 3 friends as they navigate the craziness that is Hollywood. Stars Kevin Connolly, Adrian Grenier , Kevin Dillion , Jerry Ferrera, and Jeremy Piven. Season 5 just ended with production on season 6 starting in January 2009 for a mid summer premier. Seasons 1-4 now on DVD.

What I'm Listening To:
Britney Spears - Circus.
After 2007's Blackout, Britney Spears returns to form with Circus.This mostly dance album feature a few slow songs as well as the singles Womanizer and Circus.
